My Story

When I was a kid I was told I asked too many questions.  I'd learn so much and so quickly about people that Id often get sent away to play with the kids and told to "stay out of grown folks business."  Little did I know I was developing one of the most important skills I'd ever use - curiosity.

Fun Fact: I used to travel with a carnival crew and ran the balloon stand!  I met hundreds of people in a single night and made new friends everywhere I went.  Those experiences taught me how to build meaningful connections quickly and have fun doing it!

Later I went into retail sales and kitchen design, eventually working my up to Customer Experience manager.  Today, I am an area supervisor of logistics with over 10 years at the Home Depot.  Through every role, one thing has remained contstant, Ive always been in the business of people and connections.

One day, a UX designer from Home Depot's coorperate team visited our building to ask about our experience internal systems.  I was first in line to share mine and mt teams thoughts. The more we talked the more I alive i felt, uncovering peoples needs and brainstorming ways to make things better.  That conversation introduced me to a career tailor-made for everything I love, listeing to stories, solving problems, and designing with empathy.

Now, as a recent graduate of General Assembly's UX BootCamp, Im excited to bring my curiosity, people-first mindset, and design passions to new projects and challenges!
